Hi, I’m Desiree.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have spent my career supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult and complicated seasons. I have a particular interest and experience in working with relationship concerns, trauma, domestic violence, life transitions, anxiety, and self-esteem.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe you know yourself better than anyone, and my role is to help you better understand what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop tools that actually fit your life. I draw from several evidence-based approaches depending on your needs, including EMDR-informed trauma work and Gottman Method techniques for relationship concerns. Sessions are conversational and purposeful, while still giving you space to slow down and process what you’re going through.
I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people—their stories, their relationships, and the experiences that shape how they see themselves and the world around them. I believe therapy can be a place where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. Sometimes you just need someone to sit with you in the messy parts and help you find your next step.
Outside of therapy, I’m a wife and mom of two boys, so I understand firsthand that life can be full, messy, funny, and unpredictable. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, finding good coffee shops, and creating comfortable spaces that feel welcoming and calm. I try to bring that same feeling into my work: you don’t have to show up perfectly—you can simply show up as yourself.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment, be honest and compassionate with you, and work alongside you rather than simply tell you what to do, I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
